Many of these mooring places are called <em>Marrekrite<\/em> moorings. That is because they are marked and maintained by the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/marrekrite.frl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/1578059MarrekriteinternetfolderUK-A5-2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opent in een nieuwe tab)\">Marrekrite<\/a>&#8220;: a partnership between the Frisian province and municipalities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Friesland has more than 3800 of such Marrekrite moorings: from simple small jetties to sheet piles made out of concrete for larger yachts. Many of these mooring places are located in the most beautiful areas in nature, and can be recognized by a blue and white sign with a sailing boat. You can moor a boat for free for a maximum of three days at a Marrekrite mooring place.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Marrekrite organisation not only provides new mooring sites, but also maintains and manages them. They take care of things such as waste disposal, mowing and pruning.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mooring using a buoy<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In addition to mooring at sheet piles and jetties, you can also moor your boat at so-called \u201cMarBouys\u201d. Nowadays, you can find around 90 of these buoys on the Frisian waters, including in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.np-aldefeanen.nl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"National Park De Alde Feanen (opent in een nieuwe tab)\">National Park <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.np-aldefeanen.nl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"National Park De Alde Feanen (opent in een nieuwe tab)\">De Alde Feanen<\/a><\/em>. The biggest advantage of these buoys is that they make mooring very easy: it can be done by attaching just a single line.
