Planning a boating holiday and want to explore the surroundings, do some shopping, or pick up fresh bread in the morning? At all our locations, you have the option to take a bicycle on board. Whether you’re departing from Drachten or Woudsend, having a bicycle on board adds flexibility and adventure to your trip.

Just imagine: you moor in a charming village, step ashore, and cycle straight into town for fresh bread, a museum visit, or some quick shopping. Or perhaps you’d prefer a scenic ride through nature. It’s easy: lift the bike off the boat, hop on, and you’re ready to go.

Renting a Bicycle

At both our locations, you can rent comfortable bicycles with three gears—perfect for peaceful paths and winding roads along the water. In Woudsend, we also offer convenient, compact folding bikes. These can easily be booked through the ‘Optional Extras’ form. Once booked, we will ensure your bike is ready on board before departure.

Bringing Your Own Bike?

Prefer to bring your own bicycle on board? That’s no problem! Please note, however, that electric bikes can be heavier and require more effort to lift on and off the boat.

Why Take a Bike on Board?

🌿 From a mooring spot in nature, a village, town, or marina, it’s easy to explore the area by bike—or take a beautiful ride through one of the many nature reserves in Northern Netherlands. Visit National Park De Alde Feanen, Lauwersmeer National Park, or Weerribben-Wieden National Park by bike.

🛒 Use your bicycle for quick errands, to cycle into the local town centre, or to enjoy a drink on a terrace nearby.

🚴‍♀️ Alternate relaxed boating with a refreshing bike ride. Step off the boat and straight onto your bike—it’s the perfect way to stay active and discover more of your surroundings.

🧳 Prefer not to bring your own bike? You can easily rent bikes as an additional service, and we’ll make sure they’re waiting for you on board.
